During the July 4th weekend of 2009 I was exploring the interwebz and came across a site called marksdailyapple.com. I can’t remember the exact post I landed on but it was interesting and it reminded me of The Zone diet, of which I was a proponent but hadn’t been following. I started reading through the archives on Mark’s site and became converted. It made so much sense. So I thought I’d give it a try. My parents were in town and I was kind of anxious for them to leave so I could get started. At first I just used the food I had available in the house. I started scouring the net for recipes I could use or modify to fit the Primal Blueprint. I’m sort of an wannabe cuisine connesuir. Before I discovered the Primal lifestyle I was always trying new things and exploring in the kitchen so I’ve kept that spirit as I’ve become (duhdadaDAAAAA! ) Caveman Sam. I have tons of recipes to share. When I first thought of putting this site together I gathered all the primal recipes I’d been experimenting with and it came out to more than 20. And I think I have even more now.
So when I started living according to the Primal Blueprint I was at about 185 pounds and just barely passing my yearly physical training test (I’m in the Air Force). Just three and half months later I’m down to 165 and I’m feeling great. I haven’t even been following it very well. There was a whole week of family reunion in August that I didn’t even try, and succeeded wildly. Now that I’m pretty familiar with all the concepts I’d like to follow all of Mark’s advice more strictly and see what happens.
So on this site I’ll be posting all those recipes, any workouts I come up with, my incredibly astute thoughts on all things primal (heh) and other stuff and things.
I really didn’t have a photo to go along with this post so I added one I took recently at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

Primal thoughts
