Eating out: adventures in primal eating on the town – Elephant Bar Restaurant

Four years ago today my lovely cavewoman and I tied the knot and made a cave of our own. To celebrate we decided to go out to eat at the Elephant Bar Restaurant with the cavekids in tow.

They have a big elephant on the wall with dramatic lighting. oooOOOooooo.

We’re always indecisive when we go out to eat so our servers always bring the evil garlic cheesy bread. It always smells so good… Primal eating out - Elephant bar-4

It’s a bit hard to resist. Sometimes I can… but not this time. I succumbed to half a piece as evidenced in the photo above. The shame. Luckily I didn’t descend into despondency and eat a plate of fries to make me feel better. I had the Macadamia Nut Chicken Breast with Oak Grilled Shrimp. Which appeared to be fairly primal and was quite tasty.

It came with “luau vegetables” and some brown rice. I ate some of the rice but not much. The shrimp and chicken were both muy delicioso and the bits of macadamia nuts sprinkled throughout gave it a nice crunch. I’ll have to try to recreate the sauce with macadamia nuts in it back at the cave.
